Donald Trump was left seething over the “humiliating” turnout of his Great American State Fair, which has been plagued by various mishaps.

The celebrations have suffered setbacks, including an accident on stage that nearly left performers with serious injuries, as well as very hot weather conditions that have seen some events either canceled or postponed.

Several citizens have taken to social media to criticize Donald Trump over the event, with reports also claiming some officials were left questioning everything.

President Donald Trump’s Great American State Fair sank further into what can be considered a flop as it experienced disappointing attendance.

The thin crowds at the fair, which was held at the National Mall in Washington, D.C., to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary of independence, reportedly left the president seething in rage.

According to The Mirror, things were so embarrassing and “humiliating” for the billionaire politician that he ordered the white house to pull down every photo of the fair from social media.

Footage of the event’s proceedings has since flooded social media, capturing audience members walking out while Trump gave a speech about his administration’s achievements, leaving him “livid.”

The president, as expected, claimed on social media that the opening was “packed to the brim,” but footage and estimates tell a totally different story.

Other Issues Have Befallen The Great American State Fair

As reported by The Guardian, even officials from some states like Oregon refused to attend or participate in the fair, leaving their booths relatively empty.

Aside from the sparse crowds, the fair was already plagued by record-breaking heatwaves, high vendor prices, and high-profile musical dropouts from the jump.

To add salt to injury, the fair suffered its most literal breakdown on Thursday when a massive overhead piece of the main stage collapsed during live rehearsals.

Video circulating on social media shows a troupe of dancers perfecting their routine on the National Mall stage before freezing in terror after a heavy structural panel broke away from the ceiling, plunging roughly two stories and crashing onto the stage with a violent thud, narrowly missing the performers.

While it’s not known if the incident resulted in injuries, the near-disaster immediately became a subject of mockery online.

Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie took to X to roast the dangerous construction, writing that the event was “feeling more and more like the Hunger Games.”

Meanwhile, the heatwave was so unbearable that it seemingly left White House officials at loggerheads as they questioned what the point of everything was.

A source told CNN, “I do not understand why we are doing this so late. I’m really not sure who thought this was a good idea.”

Patriotic revelers who did brave the scorching heat were seemingly left scratching their heads in frustration, as there was minimal shade.

It was worsened by the fact that they were not allowed to bring coolers inside the vicinity, nor were they allowed to bring food and water.

According to The Mirror, the price for water spiked to as high as $5 inside the event. Washington Post meteorologist Ben Noll had already warned on X that the nation’s capital would be hotter than most parts of the world.

“Only parts of Africa’s Sahara Desert, the Middle East, China’s Gobi Desert, and a few spots in the Desert Southwest will be hotter,” he noted.

Furthermore, the fair also suffered similar abandonment from several Hollywood celebrities. A star-studded musical lineup boasting acts like The Commodores, Martina McBride, and Bret Michaels collapsed after the artists pulled out.

Many of the performers released statements noting they were entirely unaware the event would double as a political rally.

Donald Trump Has Been Facing Backlash Online Over His ‘Long Speech’ Despite Scorching Heat

The 16-day national event runs from June 25 through July 10, 2026. However, many social media users called for it to be canceled as Trump insists on delivering a “really long speech” despite the soaring temperatures.

“I’m sorry, are we celebrating the USA or the fossil trying to turn it into a dictatorship?” an X user quizzed, while another added, “Heat Stroke is a real thing. Has no one mentioned this to him? Does he think he’s indestructible?”

Someone else said, “If Trump is giving a speech, the last place I want to be is within earshot of that stinking MAGA liar.”

According to Newsweek, fireworks celebrating the anniversary have been canceled in many cities or postponed until midnight, as officials fear the risk of a deadly wildfire due to the hot conditions.
