Rosie O’Donnell has fired back at Donald Trump, saying he is “quite ill” and “getting worse every day.”
The comedian’s clapback comes after the president shared a deepfake video of her and several other critics, including Whoopi Goldberg, Ed Norton, Robert De Niro, and Julia Roberts, admitting to suffering from “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”
Trump also sparked backlash online after attempting to troll Taylor Swift’s wedding to Travis Kelce with a pointed message.
Rosie O’Donnell Says Donald Trump Is ‘Getting Worse’
The latest chapter in the decades-long feud between Donald Trump and Rosie O’Donnell appears to be far from over.
The comedian has now hit back at him after she and several other celebrities appeared in an AI video Trump shared on social media, accusing them of suffering from “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”
Speaking to The Guardian, O’Donnell responded by saying, “He’s quite ill – and getting worse daily. The 25th Amendment exists for exactly this reason. Remove. Impeach. Convict.”
Trump Mocks Celebrity Critics In AI Clip
The video in question plays like a late-night infomercial or medical testimonial and features AI-generated versions of the stars praising an AI-generated Trump, depicted as a doctor in a white lab coat, for treating them for a fictional condition.
“Have you or someone you know been diagnosed with TDS?” the AI-generated Trump asks at the start of the clip. “The symptoms can be relentless. Fortunately, I’m Doctor Trump, and I have a treatment plan.”
The deepfake Trump then invites viewers to hear from some of his “patients.”
“I couldn’t eat, I couldn’t sleep, constantly angry. I made everyone miserable around me,” a fake De Niro says.
The AI-generated O’Donnell claims that she has been “suffering for over a decade.” It is not until the end of the video that “Dr. Trump” reveals what his actual “treatment” is.
“Turn off fake news,” he instructs. “Say your prayers and, if you ever feel anxious, just have a Diet Coke like me and you’re gonna see a remarkable difference in your life.”
Donald Trump Has Long Used The ‘TDS’ Label
Other celebs mocked in the 90-second clip include actors Edward Norton and John Leguizamo, both outspoken Trump critics.
The president has often accused his critics of suffering from “Trump Derangement Syndrome,” and once said in the Oval Office that he had heard it “actually is a disease.”
Reports suggest the term is an adaptation of “Bush Derangement Syndrome,” which was coined by columnist Charles Krauthammer in 2003.
At the time, Krauthammer defined it as “the acute onset of paranoia in otherwise normal people in reaction to the policies, the presidency-nay-the very existence of George W. Bush.” Many of the stars Trump targeted in the clip have repeatedly slammed him over the years, while his beef with O’Donnell dates back to 2006.
Trump’s AI Posts Follow A Familiar Pattern
This is not the first time Trump has leaned into the controversial use of AI-generated content to hit out at critics.
Over the last couple of months, Trump has shared various images idealizing his political standing, including an AI-altered image depicting himself as Jesus healing the sick and another presenting him as the Pope amid a public dispute with the Vatican.
He also used the medium to mock late-night host Stephen Colbert, sharing a video that depicted an AI version of himself grabbing a fake version of the comedian by the shoulder and jacket before tossing him into a large green bin.
Trump also shared a now-deleted AI post in which former president Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle, were depicted as apes.
Dozens of AI-generated images and videos have also been posted by Trump on his Truth Social platform.
Donald Trump Draws Heat Over Taylor Swift Wedding Dig
Away from Trump’s deepfake antics, the billionaire sparked backlash after attempting to troll Taylor Swift on her wedding night to Travis Kelce, which took place at Madison Square Garden.
In an Instagram post shared on Friday, the White House parodied the Garden’s purple digital billboard celebrating Swift and Kelce’s “JUST&T Married” moment by replacing it with the message “Trump Is Your President.” The post was captioned, “It’s happened!”
It followed an earlier post from the same account in which an image of Trump dominated a collage of several all-American images, including Iwo Jima and the Miracle on Ice, under the caption “America’s Eras Tour,” a veiled dig at the pop star’s poster for her record-breaking 2023 concert.
The post even included Swift’s “It’s a long time coming” line.
Fans flooded the comment section to call out the post, with one saying the move was “very dystopian” and “disturbing.”
