Trump Faces Fury Over $2.2B Fortune: ‘Disgusting Greed’
Donald Trump’s financial dealings since returning to the presidency continue to spark the ire of many citizens.
Trump has now been blasted for his “disgusting greed” after new documents showed he was paid more than $2.2 billion through several business ventures, with crypto emerging as his biggest earner.
While many have accused the polarizing politician of using his office to enrich himself, the White House continues to insist there are no links between his role as commander in chief and his private businesses.
Crypto Leads Donald Trump’s $2.2B Business Haul
Donald Trump is facing intense criticism from congressional Democrats following the release of a massive federal financial disclosure showing he pulled in more than $2.2 billion during his first year back in office.
The mandatory 927-page document, released on Tuesday by the U.S. Office of Government Ethics, showed that Trump and his family made the huge windfall from several ventures, including real estate, golf resorts, branded merchandise, licensing deals, and court settlements.
However, the most striking detail was that the president’s newly launched cryptocurrency ventures eclipsed his traditional real estate empire, netting his family more than $1 billion, per The Guardian.
The documents showed that World Liberty Financial, a joint venture between Trump’s family and his Middle East envoy, Steve Witkoff, brought in more than $500 million from sales of “governance tokens,” while a second firm, CIC Digital LLC, made more than $600 million from the sale of Trump-branded meme coins, which were launched just days before his second inauguration.
Trump’s Overseas Deals Also Fuel Ethics Concerns

Beyond digital assets, the documents also revealed that Trump’s global business operation profited by heavily capitalizing on foreign licensing and branding deals, often in nations actively negotiating with the U.S. government on critical matters of foreign policy, defense, and trade tariffs.
His company received a $10.4 million payment tied to real estate licensing from a property in the United Arab Emirates, while a Saudi Arabia project built by a developer close to the royal family sent Trump’s company $9 million.
Other real estate deals included $5 million in payments from two different companies in Qatar and Bucharest.
Trump also made $86 million in combined payouts from ABC, CBS, Meta, YouTube, and X through media and tech legal settlements.
He also generated about $4.7 million solely from sales of Trump-branded high-end watches.
Donald Trump Slammed For His ‘Disgusting Greed’

The scale of the earnings has left many unsettled, particularly as several retail investors who bought into the volatile tokens reportedly saw their values dip afterward.
U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren, who sits on the Senate Banking Committee, called for Congress to enact tougher crypto rules involving the office of the president and its associates.
“The crypto legislation heading to the Senate floor must prevent the president, vice-president, senior administration officials, members of Congress, and their families from profiting off the crypto industry,” Warren said, per The Guardian. “If it does not, it will only turbocharge Donald Trump’s brazen crypto corruption.”
Illinois lieutenant governor and Democratic Senate candidate Juliana Stratton also said on social media that Trump’s “infinite greed is disgusting.”
“Donald Trump uses the office of the president to make billions while American families struggle to afford their basic needs,” she added.
Gavin Newsom Says Trump’s Crypto Backers Lost Out

Other politicians who raised their voices against the president’s monetary dealings include California Governor Gavin Newsom, who said the disclosures “showed exactly” how Trump played his crypto cards.
“He got richer,” Newsom said. “His crypto supporters got rug-pulled.”
Replying to an X headline about the report, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz called Trump “The most corrupt president in American history.”
Even citizens were not left out, as many took to social media to share their reactions to the news.
“Not a narrative, serious question: how is he not in jail?” one user wrote, while another added, “And the Republicans in Congress, and his cult followers are okay with fleecing the American people. This president has proven himself [corrupt]. Total disregard for our democracy and the Constitution, along with the people who were dumb enough to vote for him. He’s vulgar.”
Donald Trump Denies Profiting From The Presidency
When questioned by reporters about the staggering figures, Trump brushed off the criticism and pointed out that he was a successful businessman long before returning to the White House.
“I made a lot of money before I became president,” he said.
Meanwhile, the White House continues to insist that Trump’s business portfolio has no links to his executive duties, as his family business is handled entirely by his adult sons through a trust.
Asked about accusations of self-enrichment, the government labeled such suggestions “the same, tired narrative that Democrats have pushed against President Trump, his family, and his administration for a decade.”
“President Trump only acts in the best interests of the American public — which is why they overwhelmingly re-elected him to this office, despite years of lies and false accusations against him and his businesses from the fake news media,” spokesperson Anna Kelly said in a statement, per AP News. “There are no conflicts of interest.”
