Mario Lopez is being outed as a MAGA supporter once again, even after he denied being associated with the current administration. 

Former television host Tanika Ray has sparked a major debate online after publicly accusing her old colleague Lopez of secretly supporting the MAGA movement. 

The tension began after a social media page shared a post claiming Lopez is a supporter of Donald Trump. However, at the time, the television host quickly denied the political claims, asking his accusers to get their “facts straight.”

Tanika Ray Claims Mario Lopez Supports MAGA

Ray, who worked alongside Lopez as a host on the show “Extra” for several years, has publicly backed claims that he is part of the MAGA movement. The drama started after an online post compiled old clips and photos suggesting Lopez holds conservative views. 

Ray decided to weigh in on the situation by leaving a series of comments under the viral post. She wrote that since she was his co-host, she could easily confirm that the political rumors are true. 

“It’s unfortunate, but glad the truth is out; maybe it will encourage him to think about it,” she wrote. “But then again, he’s a capitalist first,” she added, per BuzzFeed.

Ray also mentioned that Lopez is well aware of her disagreement with his political choices but simply does not care. “He is Mexican and MAGA, and though it’s really confusing to me, it’s his life. He is happy with his choice,” Ray added.

She finished her thoughts by expressing hope that more people will “wake up,” because the current situation simply isn’t ideal. 

Mario Lopez Previously Denied Online Political Accusations

Ray’s statements came as a direct contradiction to Lopez’s firm denial of being a MAGA supporter. The massive online disagreement started after a social media account made a video trying to prove that Lopez is a secret Trump supporter. 

The post also featured an interaction where a photographer directly asked Lopez for his thoughts on Trump. In that footage, Lopez laughed nervously, walked away, and insisted that he does not talk about politics because it is not his “thing.”

The page dedicated to “exposing Latino MAGA artists” further pushed back on Lopez’s narrative by playing an old video of Lopez with Trump and noting that he follows many conservative figures on social media, including Trump.

Lopez quickly noticed the viral video and left a direct comment to defend himself before deleting the message a short time later. As BuzzFeed reported, he told the creator that they needed to get their facts completely “straight.”

Lopez finished his message by repeating that he “could care less about politics” because he finds politics far “too divisive,” choosing instead to focus his energy on his family, culture, and faith.

Dennis Quaid Has Publicly Supported Donald Trump 

While Lopez seems to be shying away from being publicly associated with Trump, actors like Dennis Quaid are leaning in the opposite direction. 

Quaid faced heavy criticism from the public after he was seen spending time with Trump on the official Air Force One airplane. However, Quaid boldly reiterated his allegiance to the president. He also highlighted the ironic double standard in Hollywood when it comes to political issues, per The Blast.

The actor explained that while many people in Hollywood feel completely comfortable loudly criticizing the president, only a very small group of actors feel safe openly sharing their support for him. Despite the negative reactions from critics, Quaid has chosen to remain completely open about his positive views of the leader.

Mario Lopez Wins Court Protection in Ongoing Legal Battle

The political drama is not the only issue Lopez has been handling, as he also won a significant victory in a serious court battle last year. 

Almost a year ago, a judge decided to extend a protective order for Lopez against Desiree Townsend, a former cheerleader who has reportedly targeted him online and in person.

The entire legal problem began after the woman filed a $25 million lawsuit against Lopez, claiming he ruined her reputation by sharing an embarrassing video of her online. 

The Blast reported that the situation escalated when she showed up directly at his private home to hand him the legal paperwork.

Mario Lopez Had A Heated Outburst During A Courtroom Appearance

A few days before the judge ruled on Lopez’s behavior, he reportedly had a massive emotional outburst on the witness stand. The ex-cheerleader described the scene as completely chaotic, claiming the actor’s aggressive behavior left her feeling deeply shaken.

Townsend shared a surprising description of what happened when they met in front of a judge, recalling how Lopez completely lost his cool the moment he began testifying, per The Blast. 

She claimed that the actor was visibly furious and actually started screaming while on the stand, forcing the judge to step in and try to calm him down.
