What is a mountain that Kate Middleton cannot climb?

The Princess of Wales achieved a feat at the end of June for a charitable cause, walking the public through the process of climbing three mountains in England within 24 hours.

Kate Middleton revealed in March 2024 that she was diagnosed with cancer after she initially went in for a crucial abdominal surgery for a non-cancerous diagnosis.

The princess who battled cancer for most of 2024 put her triumphant story to good use by not only competing but also completing the National Three Peaks challenge. The challenge was created to support The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity in the final week of June.

Kate went into detail about how she climbed the highest mountains in England, Scotland, and Wales in under 24 hours with Tim Henman and Debbie Jevans at Wimbledon on Thursday, July 2.

The mother-of-three, who has participated in several worthy charitable causes since joining the royal family over a decade ago, explained how she prepared for the challenge and the stress it would entail. In her words as noted by PEOPLE:

“I think part of the journey was trying to enjoy the process. Like, the training beforehand, but also making time during the walk to meet people and enjoy the journey, rather than just quickly getting to the top.”

The Princess Of Wales Broke A New Record In The Royal Family

Kate participated in the challenge 18 months after announcing her remission in January 2025, becoming the first member of the royal family to complete it. She also shared a picture of her triumph on Instagram, showing the public that her husband and kids were there to celebrate with her.

The princess’s heroic deed did not, however, come without some roadblocks, especially the “atrocious” weather conditions which left everyone soaking wet. On the bright side, Kate established that it did not deter everyone on that train from putting their best foot forward and encouraged everyone to do the same.

Overall, Kate continued, the most heartwarming event of the challenge was hearing about people’s generations, which encouraged her in significant ways.

Kate Middleton Carried The Public Along In Her Cancer Journey

The news of Kate’s cancer diagnosis took the world by storm in January 2024 when it was first revealed that she was hospitalized after a successful abdominal surgery.

Our Cancer Stories shared that three months after her trip to the hospital, it was finally confirmed that she had cancer via a video on her official YouTube channel.

She continued in her statement that she was advised to immediately commence treatment to prevent the illness from advancing to other stages. Kate’s diagnosis was speculated to have been ovarian or uterine cancer, although she shared some good news with the public in June about the ground she has covered.

By September 2024, the princess shared that she had completed chemotherapy and is focusing on ensuring she stays cancer-free moving forward. Throughout her journey, Kate admitted that she gained a new perspective about the simple things in life.

By January 2025, she was officially declared cancer-free, and she informed the public that the next move after her cancer battle is to focus on recovery, which takes time.

Since overcoming her cancer battle, the mother-of-three has gradually settled back into royal life, this time with a more tailored and deliberate approach to her royal duties.

As noted by The Blast, words from royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams stressed that Kate’s work priorities had certainly shifted to focus more on her health, family life and charity causes.

She reportedly recalibrated her schedule to spend more time with her children while also making time for cancer advocacy and early childhood development. The future Queen of England has also begun taking a measured approach to her public appearances, making space only for outings that matter.

In the midst of her 2024 diagnosis, the media personality appeared at the men’s singles final at Wimbledon. Kate’s entry was met by a standing ovation from the Center Court crowd as she arrived at the venue with Pippa Middleton and Princess Charlotte.

The Blast shared that James was captured sharing a bug with his sister while, in another image, posing with his niece, nephews, and parents.

James could not stop raving about how much he holds in his heart for Kate for fulfilling a promise they made to themselves during Kate’s treatment to climb the mountain together.

He continued that they spoke about the challenge while she was in the hospital and went on and on about the healing powers of nature for the human body and mind.

He shared candid details about his sister’s positive energy during her treatment and recovery, which inspired him and so many others on how to get through difficult times. James urged their fans to come together and learn more about the charity foundation.
