While giving a passionate speech at the event, President Trump sang Minaj’s highest praises while introducing her to the crowd.

The president then rambled on about the Democratic Party, comparing being a liberal to communism. “You know they say ‘social Democrats,’ social Democrats is a Communist alright?” Trump lamented.
However, as though remembering his train of thought, Trump returned to showering adoration on the “Anaconda” rapper, calling her a “fantastic person.” He then added, “She’s got real talent,” before urging Minaj to stand to the cheers of attendees.

The clip soon went viral, and fans didn’t have positive things to say about how Trump described Minaj. “The president flirting at a formal garden feels like a cheap tabloid stunt,” one Internet user slammed.
“Selling herself to the most hated man in the country is CRAZY,” a disappointed fan tweeted, while a shocked one added, “2026 is wild. Never thought I’d see Trump hyping Nicki in the Rose Garden.”
Others wondered if the inappropriate comment spoke to something more. “Doesn’t he have a wife?” this fan questioned, while another wondered what kind of relationship was between the politician and rapper.
“He wanna replace Papa Bear so baddd,” joked this user.
The Trinidad and Tobago native returned the love, sharing a photo of herself and the president in the Oval Office, which she captioned, “Whoa!!!! #WhiteHouseBarbie with her favorite president of all time!!!”
She also shared a recording of her touring the White House. For the political event, Minaj donned her signature color pink, comprising a figure-hugging mid-length gown, heels, and minimal jewelry.

This isn’t the first time the internet has speculated about the bond between Trump and Minaj. Such was the case last month when she marked the president’s 80th birthday in style.
Taking to X, the “Barbie Dreams” artist shared AI-generated photos depicting her as Marilyn Monroe when she sang for President John F. Kennedy in 1962. Wearing a halterneck white gown and blonde wig, Minaj held on to a smiling Trump.
In another frame, the pair rocked matching black hoodies with the words, “Real recognize real,” written over the image. As reported by The Blast, the tribute sparked criticism and was tagged a desperate cry for attention.
“This is the most low-class hillbilly ratchet bullsh-t I’ve ever seen in my life,” one critic wrote, while another asked, “Is she imagining that she and Donald are a thing? All these pictures look like she has a crush on him.’
What Made Minaj A Vocal Trump Supporter
After being public with her endorsement of the Republican, the 43-year-old in a rare interview opened up about what made her vocal about it, going against the majority of Hollywood.
According to Minaj, she has always been a long-time fan of Trump. However, she never spoke about it due to fear.
“It’s been ingrained in everyone’s brain in the music business that we are supposed to be a Democratic family. I just knew they would not like me supporting Trump,” she shared, per The Blast.
However, all that fear went out the window when California Governor Gavin Newsom failed to respond to her cry for help when she was swatted. Republican Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna was the one who came to her aid.
“I’d never seen anyone in politics treat me that way. That’s what made me say that I don’t care to keep this a secret anymore,” she added.

The rapper’s public support has no doubt impressed the president, as evident by the unique gift he presented to her. Minaj dished about it on social media, sharing a photo of a signed bible from Trump.
The Holy book featured the president’s signature across the cover with the words “God Bless The USA” printed near the bottom. “One of the most meaningful gifts I’ve ever received in my entire life,” she gushed in the accompanying caption.
According to The Blast, Trump’s signed bible goes for as high as $1,000.
